Come Ye Thankful!

It is November, the best part of this November... Thanksgiving!

There is another challenge at the A Day for Daisies Blog!

For this challenge I used the FABULOUS image, Butterfly Harvest:
This image was colored with Copic markers.
The butterfly punch is from Fiskars.

I love the image of butterflies with the cornucopia!  It reminds me of temperate fall days that we get every once in a while here in the mid-west!

I hope you can join us for the challenge, please add some burlap to your project.  Get all of the details here: Harvest Challenge!

Thanks so much for taking the time to come by my blog!

This is the second post for today, because, apparently, my automatic post didn't post last week. UGH!

So happy Friday, again!

Today I have another showcase image: Vintage flower clock!
I used Copic markers to add a bit of color and dimension to the image.
The sentiment was created by me in Google Drive.
The dies are both Tim Holtz/Sizzix dies.

Happy Fairy Birthday

Happy Friday!
I have a card and a challenge for you today!

The card uses the A Day for Daisies image, Fancy Hair Fairy:

She is colored with Copic markers and her wings are highlighted with Stickles.

The background was a plastic template that I sprayed with a homemade color spray and then blotted on a second sheet of paper.

It is time for a new challenge!  The challenge is to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) a design team card!

For today I got to play with Fairy Queen Scarlet from A Day for Daisies!
She is colored with Copic markers.
A wonderful thing about this fairy queen is that she shares a name with our little princess, Scarlet:

Grateful for YOU!

Happy Friday to you!

In my book, it is always a good time for a fall card!   I could have easily used spring colors for this card, but I REALLY like fall!!

This wee cutie is "Acorn Cutie B" from A Day for Daisies:
Our challenge this week is to use glitter, and I have used Stickles brand glitter glue on the skirt leaves and the die cut leaves (Tim Holtz)

I hope you dance!

Friday is here!!!

I am in full graduation mode as my second child graduates.

And in full reflection mode, too.  Memories!  Not just of my own child graduating but the wonderful people she has brought into my life.

My daughter's oldest friend was the inspiration behind this card.  She is a dancer.  She is a joy to watch and a blessing to know!

The image used is Magical Bloom Dancer from A Day for Daisies:
She was printed on watercolor paper.  I used Tim Holtz Distress and Stampin' Up inks to watercolor her.

I have previewed what my teammates have done and you will not want to miss their creations!

Ready for a nap???

Well I am ready for a nap!

I had my first ever gall bladder attack this past Saturday evening.   It didn't let up, so I got tests, and then surgery!

Though I feel better every day, I am still ready for a nap!

Well, six months ago, I became a part of the "Dirt Pile"  a.k.a. SplitCoastStampers design team.  My work was displayed in an amazing members only gallery!

I can now show you some of those cards!
The theme was "A Long Winter's Nap":

Stamp Credits: Starving Artistamps;

Stamp Credits: Starving Artistamps;

No stamp used here, just a coloring page resized for a card;

Stamp Credits: Rubbernecker Stamps for backgrounds (They are the best place for background stamps!!!); and  Verve for the coffee cups and sentiment;

I hope you enjoyed this little walk down memory lane with me... Now I am going to nap... ;)

Please post a comment if you have any questions about these cards or any other cards on my blog.
~Thanks!

A Dancer with Paint

Hello Friday!
This has been a typical crazy week at our house... never dull, never boring! ;)

Tammy, a.k.a. "A Day for Daisies" Genius, has created some new and completely adorable images for the May club.

I have had the pleasure of working with "Little Dancer Flower":
I have tried something a little different this time, dipping my toe into mixed media:

  • I printed two copies of the image.  One on cardstock one on office weight printer paper.
  • With the printer paper copy I cut out the dress, leaving the wildflowers. This creates a mask for the dress.
  • I used removable adhesive to adhere the paper copy directly over the cardstock copy.
  • I "inked" a background stamp with acrylic paint (lavendar) and stamped over the image.
  • After the acrylic paint was dry, I spritzed the area with a homemade color spray
  • When that was dry, I removed the mask, colored with copic markers and added Liquid Pearls as accents.

We are all using paint with the whimsical and beautiful flowery fairy images.  You will want to take the time to gaze at them on the blogs of my teammates:
